Box Score

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. —
Johnson C. Smith University fought clawed back from an early double-digit deficit to rally and defeat Lincoln University Saturday night at Manuel Rivero Hall, 74-53.

LU scored the game's first 12 points, but JCSU, the defending CIAA champions would not wither under the early pressure.

Sophomore guard Darren Clark (Boston, MA, Largo) led the LU men with 15 points while sixth man
Denzel Mooney (Baltimore, MD, Western School of Technology) followed with 14. Each drained two three-pointers, but overall, Lincoln was just 6-22 from beyond the bark.

The Lions could not have anticipated a better start, going up 12-0. Dante Blanton-Holcombe (Baltimore, MD, Dunbar) knocked down a thee just 30 seconds into the contest. With 13:14 remaining, LU capped the run on Mooney's first three.

The Golden Bulls failed to get on the board until Michael Cooper hit a pair of free throws with nearly eight minutes into the ball game.

JCSU slowly chipped away at the lead as LU shooters went cold, eventually taking a 20-19 lead with 5:13 left in the opening half. They would not trail the rest of the night.

Fortunately for LU, there is a quick turnaround following the loss. Monday at 7:30 p.m., Livingstone college visits Manuel Rivero Hall.
