Lions Close Season at CIAA Tournament

ORANGEBURG, SC – May 8, 2026 – The Lincoln University (PA) softball team wrapped up its 2026 season at the CIAA Softball Championship, splitting its final day of competition.

Game 1 – Lincoln (PA) 2, Bluefield State 1

Lincoln opened the day with a strong performance, earning a 2-1 win over Bluefield State.

The Lions broke through in the sixth inning with two runs, finishing with eight hits offensively. In the circle, Lincoln delivered a complete effort, limiting Bluefield State to just one run on six hits while recording six strikeouts.

The combination of timely hitting and strong pitching allowed the Lions to secure the win and stay alive in the tournament.

Game 2 – Lincoln (PA) 0, Bowie State 8

Lincoln's season came to a close in game two, falling 8-0 to Bowie State.

Bowie State took control early, scoring four runs in the first two innings and continuing to add on late. The Lions were limited offensively, recording just two hits and unable to generate scoring opportunities.

Despite the final result, Lincoln showed resilience throughout the tournament, battling through elimination play and competing until the final out.


The Lions conclude the 2026 season with a 15-28 overall record, highlighted by a late-season push that secured a CIAA Tournament berth and provided valuable experience for a developing roster.
