Kutztown, Pa. – March 9, 2026 – The Lincoln University (PA) baseball team split a non-conference doubleheader with Kutztown University on Monday afternoon at North Campus Field. The Golden Bears took the opener 7-1 before the Lions responded with a 4-3 victory in Game 2.
Game 1: Kutztown 7, Lincoln 1
Lincoln collected six hits in the opening game but could not overcome a big middle inning from Kutztown.
The Golden Bears scored twice in the second inning on a pair of wild pitches before adding three runs in the third, two of which were unearned following a defensive miscue. Kutztown later extended its lead in the sixth inning with a two-run home run to make it 7-1.
The Lions' lone run came in the fourth inning when Jalen Greenidge (Richmond, Va./Monacan) lifted a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Frederick Perry (Houston, TX).
Jaden Greenidge (Richmond, Va./Monacan) and Solomon Devard (Bear, Del./MOT Charter) each recorded two hits to pace Lincoln offensively, while Isaiah Negron (Merion Station, PA/Lower Merion HS) struck out six batters across six innings on the mound.
Game 2: Lincoln 4, Kutztown 3
Lincoln bounced back in the second game behind timely hitting and strong relief pitching.
The Lions opened the scoring in the first inning when Kenneth Gaskins III drove in Sean Stoney (Rosedale, NY/Archbishop Molloy HS) with a sacrifice fly. Kutztown responded with runs in the second and third innings to take a 2-1 lead.
Lincoln evened the score in the fourth inning as Jaden Greenidge (Richmond, Va./Monacan) singled to center field to bring home Jayden Tavera (Port Saint Lucie, FL).
The decisive moment came in the seventh inning when Solomon Devard (Bear, Del./MOT Charter) delivered a clutch two-run double down the right-field line, scoring Antonio Bruno (Browns Mills, NJ) and Isaiah Tinsley-Cobbs to give Lincoln a 4-2 advantage.
Kutztown added a run in the bottom of the seventh on a sacrifice fly but could not complete the comeback.
Frederick Perry (Houston, TX) started on the mound for the Lions, allowing two runs over four innings. Pedro Santos (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic) earned the win in relief, pitching three innings and allowing one run while securing the victory.
Lincoln finished Game 2 with 10 hits, led by multi-hit performances from Antonio Bruno (Browns Mills, NJ) and Jalen Greenidge (Richmond, Va./Monacan).
With the split, the Lions move to 3-6 on the season as they continue early-season play.
