LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. — The Lincoln University women's soccer team continues Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play this week, traveling to Goldey-Beacom College on Tuesday, October 20, before returning home to host Dominican University of New York for Senior Day on Friday, October 23.
Tuesday's match begins at 3 p.m. in Wilmington, Delaware. Friday's home finale is scheduled for noon at LU Athletics Stadium and will also feature Faculty and Staff Recognition.
Last Time Out
Lincoln enters the week following a narrow 1–0 setback at Post on October 17. The Lions held the Eagles scoreless until the 88th minute, when Post scored with 2:32 remaining.
Nicole Lilja (Lanham, MD) recorded four saves, while
Titilayo Alaka (Toronto, ON, CA) led Lincoln with two shots, including one on goal.
Ricyonna Walker (Kingston, Jamaica),
Mikayla Cubbage (Winslow, NJ) and
Breanna Steen (Bethel, CT) also registered shots on target. Lincoln placed four of its six shots on goal.
The Lions will look to build on that defensive effort while creating more opportunities in the attacking third.
Scouting Goldey-Beacom
Goldey-Beacom demonstrated its offensive potential in a 7–3 victory over Staten Island on October 14, generating 25 shots and putting 16 on target. Jensen scored four goals, while Miley Jones and Lexy Yeager also contributed to the attack.
The Lightning subsequently fell 6–0 at Georgian Court on October 17. Lincoln will look to limit space around the penalty area, maintain defensive organization and capitalize on opportunities to move forward.
Scouting Dominican
Dominican University of New York visits Lincoln on Friday, October 23, for a noon CACC matchup. The Chargers have earned conference victories over Wilmington, 2–1, and Post, 1–0, demonstrating their ability to win close contests.
Kendall McGregor scored the deciding goal in the 69th minute against Post, making her an attacking player for Lincoln to watch. Dominican also challenged Goldey-Beacom in a narrow 3–2 setback before falling 6–0 to Jefferson on October 17.
The Chargers host Caldwell on Tuesday before traveling to Lincoln for Friday's Senior Day contest. For the Lions, maintaining defensive organization, limiting opportunities inside the penalty area and converting scoring chances will be priorities as they seek a conference victory in their home finale.
Senior Day Spotlight
Friday's matchup with Dominican will provide an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of Lincoln's senior class:
Nevaeh Washington (Philadelphia, PA), Ricyonna Walker (Kingston, Jamaica), Jordan Allison (Baltimore, MD) and Ariel Reyes (Valley Stream, NY).
Washington, a goalkeeper from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Reyes, a goalkeeper from Valley Stream, New York, bring veteran experience to Lincoln's goalkeeping group.
Walker, a defender from Kingston, Jamaica, has provided a steady presence on the back line. She played all 180 minutes against Wilmington and Post last week and helped the Lions keep Post scoreless for more than 87 minutes.
Allison, a midfielder from Baltimore, Maryland, brings experience through the middle of the field. She logged 82 minutes and recorded a shot against Post.
Lincoln will look to honor its seniors with a strong performance against the Chargers in the team's final home appearance of the season.
