RALEIGH, N.C. – January 8,2026 - The Lincoln University women's basketball team fell to Shaw University 65-54 on Wednesday evening at Spaulding Gym. The loss drops Lincoln to 2-12 overall and 0-4 in CIAA play. Shaw built an early lead and maintained control throughout the game.

Kaziah Akinniyi (Baltimore, Md./Poly) led Lincoln with a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Hunter Conway (Detroit, MI/Belleville HS) contributed 11 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Anyia Gibson (Edgewood, MD/) added 9 points on efficient shooting, and Serenity Burgess (Coatesville, PA) chipped in 7 points and 4 rebounds.

Lincoln struggled with shooting, making just 29.9% of field goals compared to Shaw's 37.9%. Despite forcing 23 turnovers and scoring 26 points off them, the Lions couldn't overcome their offensive struggles.
