PITTSBURGH, Pa. – September 6, 2025 – Lincoln University (PA) football dropped to 0-2 on the season after a 55-14 setback against Duquesne University Saturday afternoon at Arthur J. Rooney Field.
The Lions found the end zone in the second quarter when quarterback Hamas Duren (Sicklerville, Nj, Winslow Township HS) connected with Kasi Hazzard (Hillside, NJ, John P. Stevens HS) on an 11-yard touchdown strike to cap a six-play, 42-yard drive. Duren later added a 32-yard scoring pass to Kyrie Tyson (Elkton, MD, Elkton HS) in the third quarter, highlighting the Lions' offensive effort. Duren finished 19-of-34 for 191 yards and two touchdowns, while Tyson and Hazzard each hauled in five receptions, combining for 127 yards.
Running back Rondarius Gregory (Nashville, TN ) led the ground game with 30 yards on eight carries and added 11 receiving yards. Wayne Allen II (Wilmington, DE, Paul M. Hodgson Vocational Technical HS) contributed four catches for 38 yards to round out the passing attack
Defensively, Isaiah Session (Philadelphia, PA, Monsignor Bonner HS) and Charles Thompson (Chester, PA, Stem Academy) paced the Lions with 10 tackles apiece. Session added two tackles for loss, while Thompson chipped in 1.5 stops behind the line. Nazeem Werts (Philadelphia, PA, Cheltenham HS) broke up a pass, and John (Jay) Harris (Harrisburg, PA) recovered a muffed punt to set up Lincoln's first scoring drive.
Despite the loss, Lincoln showed resiliency in sustaining drives and executing in the red zone against a strong Duquesne squad. The Lions open CIAA conference play at Winston Salem State University on September 13th, 2025.
