WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – September 13, 2025 – Lincoln University (PA) football dropped its CIAA opener on the road Saturday night, falling 51-14 to Winston-Salem State at Bowman Gray Stadium.
The Lions struck early in the first quarter when senior running back Rondarius Gregory (Nashville, TN ) capped a nine-play, 60-yard drive with a five-yard touchdown run to even the score at 7-7. Quarterback Hamas Duren (Sicklerville, Nj, Winslow Township HS) added a one-yard rushing touchdown midway through the third quarter, pulling Lincoln within 28-14 before WSSU pulled away.
Duren finished 16-of-24 for 213 yards through the air while adding a rushing score. Gregory led the offense with 69 rushing yards, a touchdown, and 94 receiving yards on five catches for 163 total yards. Wayne Allen II (Wilmington, DE, Paul M. Hodgson Vocational Technical HS) added 63 yards receiving, and Kasi Hazzard (Hillside, NJ, John P. Stevens HS) chipped in 54 yards on five receptions.
Defensively, Zion Knox (Philadelphia, PA) and Malachi Williams (Washington, DC ) led the Lions with eight tackles apiece. Landen Turk (Oxford, PA, Oxford Area HS) recorded a sack, while Kemaal Mcmillian (Orlando, FL) added a tackle for loss.
Despite totaling 341 yards of offense and 26 first downs, Lincoln was undone by three lost fumbles and an interception. WSSU quarterback Daylin Lee threw for 251 yards and four touchdowns while adding a rushing score to pace the Rams.
The Lions (0-3, 0-1 CIAA) now turn their focus to their home opener against Shaw University, looking to regroup and capture their first win of the 2025 season.
