Lincoln Battles in Tri-Match at Georgian Court

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – September 13, 2025 – The Lincoln University women's volleyball team competed in a tri-match on Saturday at Georgian Court University, dropping straight-set decisions to the host Lions and Pace University.

Georgian Court 3, Lincoln 0 – Match Recap
Lincoln showed its fight in the opening match of the day, pushing Georgian Court to long rallies and a competitive third set. Elise Carter (Smyrna, DE/Smyrna HS) led the Lions with 8 kills on .227 hitting, while also contributing 8 digs. Khalia Jabbie (Portland ,OR) added 3 kills and a team-high 4 blocks, and Ashley Fru (Brandywine, MD) finished with 13 assists and 10 digs for a balanced effort. Libero Donavyn Morris (Chester, PA) anchored the defense with a match-high 14 digs.

After falling in the first two sets, Lincoln nearly forced extra points in the third, battling to a 23-25 finish in their closest set of the day.

Pace 3, Lincoln 0 – Match Recap
In the second match, Lincoln was led by Kaniece Wright (Bowie, MD) with 6 kills and Charly Manley (Upper Marlboro, MD/Frederick Douglass HS) and Carter adding 3 apiece. Audreynette Lydgate (Bowie, MD/Charles Herbert Flowers HS) provided an efficient spark with 4 kills on 4 swings (1.000 hitting). Fru guided the offense with 17 assists, while Morris collected 9 digs.

Lincoln stayed within striking distance in the second set, tallying 11 kills as a team, but Pace closed strong in the final frame.

The Lions return home for their 2025 home opener on Monday, September 15, hosting Felician University at 8 p.m. in Oxford, Pa.
