Lincoln University, PA. - August 27, 2025 - Lincoln University (PA) has been spotlighted in NCAA.com's 2025 HBCU Football Homecoming schedule, with the Lions set to host long-time CIAA rival Elizabeth City State University on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Dr. Frank "Tick" Coleman Field.
This year marks Lincoln's 15th season back in the CIAA since rejoining the conference in 2010. Over that span, the Lions have battled the Vikings annually in matchups that bring out the best in both programs. Recently, Lincoln has had the upper hand, winning the last two meetings in thrilling fashion:
· 2024 – A dramatic 21-20 road victory in Elizabeth City.
· 2023 – A 27-21 Homecoming win in front of a roaring Den crowd.
· 2022 – A nail-biting 19-21 loss at Elizabeth City, showing just how close this rivalry has been in recent years.
Homecoming at Lincoln is more than just a football game — it's a celebration of history, heritage, and pride. The Lions are one of the nation's most storied HBCU programs, tracing their football roots back to 1894. This season marks 131 years of Lincoln Football, a legacy that continues to bring alumni, students, faculty, and fans from across the country back to "The Den" each October.
Last season's Homecoming against Bluefield State was historic, as Lincoln officially dedicated Dr. Frank "Tick" Coleman Field and the Cyrus Jones Track. A capacity crowd filled the stands, creating one of the most electric atmospheres in program history and helping power the Lions to a 37-13 victory over the Big Blue.
This year's matchup promises to be even bigger. The Lions, fueled by an offseason of growth and determination, are hungry to extend their winning streak against the Vikings in front of a passionate home crowd.
