Baltimore, MD – February 26, 2025 – The Lincoln University (PA) men's basketball team put on a dominant defensive performance, securing a 58-42 victory over Winston-Salem State in CIAA Tournament action at CFG Bank Arena.
Lincoln's defense set the tone, holding Winston-Salem State to just 29.2% shooting from the field and a tough 1-for-14 performance from beyond the arc. The Lions led 28-20 at halftime and never let their opponent find an offensive rhythm in the second half.
Peter Sorber (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic) controlled the paint with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks, anchoring Lincoln's defense. Bakir Cleveland (Newark, N.J./University) added 8 points, while Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) contributed 16 points and 8 rebounds in an efficient performance.
Winston-Salem State's offense struggled to find momentum, despite a team-high 10 points from their leading scorer. Lincoln out-rebounded the Rams 36-32 and capitalized on second-chance opportunities to extend their lead.
With the win, Lincoln advances to the next round of the tournament and will face Claflin University on Thursday, February 27, at 8:00 p.m.
