Lincoln University, PA – February 15, 2025 – The Lincoln University (PA) men's basketball team dropped a tough CIAA matchup to Virginia Union University, 58-43, on Saturday night at Bobby Morgan Arena.
The Lions (15-10, 10-4 CIAA) struggled to find their offensive rhythm, shooting 34 percent from the field and just 6 percent from three-point range.
Bakir Cleveland (Newark, N.J./University) led Lincoln with 16 points, going 5-for-9 from the field and 5-for-5 at the free-throw line. Peter Sorber (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic) added 12 points, five rebounds, and three blocks, while Ethan Garita (Trenton, N.J./Princeton Day School) chipped in six points.
Lincoln trailed 30-22 at halftime and managed to pull within six early in the second half, but Virginia Union responded with timely three-pointers to regain control. The Lions committed 14 turnovers, resulting in 13 points for the Panthers.
The Lions will look to bounce back when they take on Bluefield State University on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in Bobby Morgan Arena in Philadelphia, PA.
