Lions Deliver Strong Performances at Frank Colden Invite

Collegeville, PA – February 10, 2025 – The Lincoln University (PA) track and field teams turned in solid performances at the Frank Colden Invitational, hosted by Ursinus College. Several Lions set personal bests and delivered top finishes as they prepare for the CIAA Indoor Championships next weekend.

Women's Highlights

Sabianka Alexis (Brooklyn,NY/New Visions Charter HS for Advanced Math and Science) led the way for the Lions, finishing 2nd in the 60m dash with a personal-best time of 7.90. She also anchored the women's 4x400m relay team, which placed 2nd overall in 4:13.57, alongside Leannah Jordan (Montclair, NJ/Montclair HS), Paris Talley (Philadelphia,PA/West Catholic HS), and Aniya Whitfield (Hatboro Horsham, PA/Upper Moreland HS).

Freshman Madison Morgan (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway Township) had a standout performance in the 1-mile run, clocking a personal-best 5:46.46 to secure 8th place. Miranda McLean also recorded a PR in the mile (5:57.63), while Aniya Whitfield (Hatboro Horsham, PA/Upper Moreland HS) set a new personal best in the 800m (2:37.25).

In the field events, Gabrielle Lanier finished 9th in the high jump with a mark of 1.40m (4-07.00), and Tyasia Doyle (Sicklerville,NJ/Winslow Twp) placed 19th in the shot put with a 9.58m (31-05.25) throw.

Men's Highlights

Freshman Lamine Kane (Baltimore, MD/Woodlawn HS) delivered an impressive 2nd-place finish in the 400m, clocking in at 52.24. Sophomore Ebenezer Affaine shined in the 60m hurdles, placing 5th in the finals with a time of 9.06 after qualifying with a 9.00 mark in the prelims.

The men's 4x400m relay team of Affaine, Kane, Nicolas Troupe (Rochester, NY/Benjamin Franklin Media Arts), and Thomas Jones (Washington, DC/Coolidge HS) finished 4th overall with a time of 3:36.85. In the pole vault, Adam Green (Pottstown, PA/Pottstown) cleared 3.65m (11-11.75) to place 12th, setting a new personal best.

Looking Ahead

With momentum on their side, the Lions now turn their focus to the CIAA Indoor Championships on February 16-17 in Winston-Salem, NC, where they will compete against the best in the conference.
