SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — November 15, 2025 — The Lincoln University women's basketball team battled through a physical, defensive matchup on Saturday night but fell in a 59–55 overtime decision at Shippensburg inside Heiges Field House. The loss moves the Lions to 0–2 on the season.
Junior guard Alaila Walker (Kalamazoo, Mich./Central) turned in a dominant performance, scoring a game-high 29 points on 10-of-22 shooting, including six three-pointers. Walker carried the Lions offensively and delivered timely buckets throughout the night to keep Lincoln within striking distance.
Sophomore Kaziah Akinniyi (Baltimore, Md./Poly) added 7 points and 7 rebounds, while junior Ariana Makumi (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly) controlled the interior with 10 rebounds. Off the bench, sophomore Riley Holliday (Baltimore, MD/) contributed 6 points and 7 boards, helping Lincoln earn a 46–42 advantage on the glass.
Defensively, Lincoln forced 14 turnovers and held Shippensburg to just three made threes, but offensive consistency proved difficult as the Lions finished 17-of-59 from the field. The contest featured five ties and five lead changes, with Lincoln forcing overtime through timely stops late in regulation.
Shippensburg made the key plays in the extra period, outscoring the Lions 12–8 to close out the game.
