Wilmington,DE - November 19, 2025 - The Lincoln University women's basketball team earned its first victory of the 2025–26 campaign with a strong 76–68 road win over Wilmington (Del.) on Wednesday night in Wilmington, Delaware.
The Lions controlled the glass from the opening tip, finishing with a dominant 63–48 rebounding advantage that fueled 27 offensive rebounds and 17 second-chance points. Kaziah Akinniyi (Baltimore, Md./Poly) led the charge with a game-high 20 points, attacking the rim and knocking down 10 of 12 attempts at the free-throw line to steady the offense.
Ariana Makumi (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly) anchored the interior with a near double-double—nine points and 14 rebounds—while Shyne Hall (Chester, PA/STEM) provided a spark off the bench with 10 points in just 13 minutes. Ja'Laiyah Smith (Bayonne, NJ) and Riley Holliday (Baltimore, MD/) added valuable support, combining for 12 points and 13 rebounds as Lincoln closed strong in the fourth quarter.
Lincoln led 36–34 at halftime and held a 52–47 advantage entering the final period. The Lions sealed the win with a composed 24-point fourth quarter, using timely stops and efficient late-game execution to pull away.
The victory lifts Lincoln to 1–2 on the season.
