ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – October 30, 2025 – The Lincoln University (PA) women's volleyball team showed plenty of fight on the road Thursday evening, taking a set and keeping things competitive before ultimately falling 3–1 (17–25, 25–22, 15–25, 23–25) to Elizabeth City State University.
Lincoln (1–23, 0–13 CIAA) found its rhythm in the second set, rallying for a 25–22 win behind standout performances from Ashley Fru (Brandywine, MD), Elise Carter (Smyrna, DE/Smyrna HS), and Khalia Jabbie (Portland ,OR). Fru paced the attack with 24 assists and nine kills, while Carter added six kills, two aces, and eight digs. Jabbie led the Lions at the net with 10 kills and three total blocks.
On the defensive end, Donavyn Morris (Chester, PA) anchored the back row with a team-high 20 digs, while Charly Manley (Upper Marlboro, MD/Frederick Douglass HS) and Audreynette Lydgate (Bowie, MD/Charles Herbert Flowers HS) chipped in with key blocks and kills to help Lincoln stay within reach in the final set.
The Lions return home to Oxford, Pennsylvania, on Monday, November 3 at 7 p.m., hosting Virginia Union University in CIAA action.
