OXFORD, Pa. – October 22, 2025 – The Lincoln University women's volleyball team picked up its first win of the 2025 season, defeating Cheyney University 3–1 on Wednesday night at Oxford High School.
After dropping the opening set 25–18, the Lions responded with three straight wins (25–13, 28–26, 26–24), showcasing resilience and strong team chemistry in front of the home crowd.
Ashley Fru (Brandywine, MD) led the way with a stellar all-around effort, recording seven kills, 24 assists, five service aces, and seven digs. Audreynette Lydgate (Bowie, MD/Charles Herbert Flowers HS) paced the attack with 10 kills and two blocks, while Elise Carter (Smyrna, DE/Smyrna HS) added eight kills, 11 service aces, and seven digs, providing consistent energy from the service line.
Defensively, Donavyn Morris (Chester, PA) anchored the back row with 15 digs, while Saniah Fenison (Roselle Park, NJ) and Charly Manley (Upper Marlboro, MD/Frederick Douglass HS) combined for four blocks to help seal the win.
The victory marked an important step forward for the Lions (1–20, 0–10 CIAA) as they continue to build momentum in conference play.

Lincoln returns to action on Thursday, October 23, hosting Virginia State University in a CIAA matchup at 7:30 p.m. inside Oxford High School.
