Oxford, PA – The Lincoln (PA) women's volleyball team put up a determined effort but fell 3–0 (25–18, 26–24, 25–19) to Chestnut Hill College in a non-conference match up on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Kaniece Wright (Bowie, MD) led the Lions offensively with seven kills, while Audreynette Lydgate (Bowie, MD/Charles Herbert Flowers HS) followed with six kills and two blocks. Charly Manley (Upper Marlboro, MD/Frederick Douglass HS) added four kills, two aces, and seven digs to round out the Lions' attack.
Freshmen Ashley Fru (Brandywine, MD) and Donavyn Morris (Chester, PA) contributed strong performances, with Fru recording 14 assists and 10 digs, while Morris anchored the defense with 12 digs.
Despite the setback, Lincoln showed tremendous resilience and offensive improvement, particularly during the competitive second set. The Lions (0–16, 0–6 CIAA) return to action on Monday, October 13, in Richmond, Virginia, for a CIAA match up against Virginia Union University.
