Bluefield, WV – January 29, 2025 – The Lincoln University (PA) men's basketball team battled hard but saw their four-game winning streak come to an end with a 78-65 loss to Bluefield State University.
The first half was a back-and-forth contest, with both teams exchanging leads. However, missed free throws and costly mistakes allowed Bluefield State to take control, and Lincoln found themselves trailing 37-31 at halftime.
Despite a determined second-half effort, the Lions were unable to overcome the deficit. Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) led the charge with 20 points and an impressive 7 steals, proving to be a disruptive force on defense. Bakir Cleveland (Newark, N.J./University) made a significant impact with 16 points and 9 rebounds, while Peter Sorber (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic) controlled the glass, finishing with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Though the loss snapped their winning streak, the Lions remain focused as they prepare for their next challenge. Lincoln will look to bounce back when they face Virginia Union University on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in Richmond, VA.
