Lincoln University, PA – January 25, 2025 – The Lincoln University (PA) men's basketball team extended their winning streak to seven games with a hard-fought 70-65 victory over Virginia State University. The Lions remain undefeated in CIAA play, improving to 14-6 overall and 9-0 in the conference.

Senior Bakir Cleveland (Newark, N.J./University) led the Lions with an impressive 25 points, shooting 6-of-8 from the field and 11-of-14 from the free-throw line, while adding 5 rebounds and 1 steal. Graduate guard Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) contributed a well-rounded performance with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Senior Ethan Garita (Trenton, N.J./Princeton Day School) added 11 points, 5 rebounds, and a crucial free throw to secure the win.

The game was a back-and-forth battle, with nine ties and eight lead changes. Virginia State dominated the first half with efficient shooting, taking a 34-30 halftime lead. However, the Lions surged in the second half, outscoring the Trojans 40-31. The Lions' defense forced 10 turnovers, which proved pivotal in the game's final moments.

Lincoln capitalized on their trips to the free-throw line, shooting 23-of-33 compared to Virginia State's 10-of-15. Their resilience in the paint and ability to execute in high-pressure situations helped the Lions maintain their perfect conference record.
