Elizabeth City, NC – January 23, 2025 – It was a nail-biter at Elizabeth City State University as the Lincoln University (PA) men's basketball team extended their win streak to three games, edging out ECSU 72-68 on their home court.
Despite trailing 43-32 at halftime, the Lions mounted an impressive second-half comeback, fueled by the dynamic duo of Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) and Peter Sorber (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic). The guard-big man pick-and-roll proved unstoppable, with Hudson stuffing the stat sheet in a stellar all-around performance. He finished with 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting, adding 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 6 steals, while committing just one turnover.
Sorber was a force in the paint, delivering 20 points on an efficient 9-of-12 shooting while grabbing 9 rebounds and contributing a block and a steal. His relentless work on both ends anchored the Lions during crucial moments.
ECSU controlled the tempo in the first half, using strong perimeter shooting and defensive pressure to build a double-digit lead. However, Lincoln's resilience and second-half adjustments shifted the momentum. Hudson's playmaking and clutch steals ignited the Lions, while Sorber's dominance inside kept ECSU's defense on its heels.
With the win, Lincoln improves to 13-6 overall and remains undefeated in CIAA play at 8-0. The Lions will look to continue their winning streak in their next game against Virginia State University on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Bobby Morgan Arena in Philadelphia, PA. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m..
