Philadelphia, PA- September 10, 2024 - The Lincoln University (PA) women's volleyball team came up short in their trip to Philly, the team ended up losing to the Rams in four sets with with set scores of: 10-25,25-19,6-25,6-25.

The Lions were able to keep the game close in the beginning of the first set with a back-and-forth score in the opening minutes (3-5). The rams were able to pull away towards the end of the set as they went on an 8-0 run which helped them finish the set.

Lincoln evened things up after the first set as the team was able to win the second due to their aggressive play on the offensive end. The Lions managed to go on a 6-0 run during this set that propelled them towards a 25-19 finish.

During the final two sets the Lions were unable to put it together on offense as they fell to the Rams leading to a final match score of 1-3.

The Lions were led on offense by Freshman
Audreynette Lydgate () (4 kills) followed by
Laila Newborn (Ardmore, Pa./Lower Merion) (3 kills) and Janna Smith (3 kills).

On the defensive end
Janiece Lumpkin (Middletown, DE/Middletown HS) led the team with 13 digs while
Elise Carter () and Lydgate both had one block.

The Lincoln University (PA) women's volleyball team will be at home for their next match as they face off against Goldey-Beacom College in Lincoln University, PA starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
