Salisbury, NC – December 22, 2024 – The Lincoln University (PA) men's basketball team extended their winning streak to four games with a thrilling 64-63 victory over Livingstone College in a nail-biting CIAA showdown at William Trent Gymnasium. The Lions remain undefeated in conference play at 3-0 and improve to 8-5 overall.
Senior Peter Sorber (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic) was the hero for Lincoln, sinking two clutch free throws with three seconds left to secure the win. Sorber finished with a team-high 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting, along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. Senior Ethan Garita (Trenton, N.J./Princeton Day School) continued his strong play, adding 13 points, 5 rebounds, and a steal. Senior Freddie Young, Jr. (Ewing, N.J./Trenton Catholic) provided a spark off the bench with 11 points, including a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.
The Lions overcame a tough Livingstone defense, which forced 14 turnovers, by dominating inside with 30 points in the paint and grabbing 15 offensive rebounds, leading to 14 second-chance points. After trailing by 2 at halftime, Lincoln took control in the second half with a balanced attack and key defensive stops.
The Lions will look to keep their momentum going as they face Shaw University in Wilmington, DE, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 8 p.m. in another pivotal CIAA matchup.
