Box Score Uncasville, CT – December 19, 2024 – The Lincoln University (PA) men's basketball team opened the Chris Paul HBCU Classic with a strong 59-47 victory over Benedict College. The Lions showcased defensive intensity and a balanced offensive attack to secure the win at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
Senior Ethan Garita (Trenton, N.J./Princeton Day School) led the way for the Lions with a dominant performance, scoring 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting while grabbing 7 rebounds. Senior Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) contributed across the board with 11 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds, while senior Peter Sorber (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic) added 9 points, 9 rebounds, and a steal to anchor Lincoln in the paint.
The Lions overcame a slow start, trailing 24-22 at halftime. A dominant second half, where Lincoln outscored Benedict 37-23, highlighted their resilience. The defense was particularly impressive, forcing 21 turnovers and converting them into 20 points. Lincoln also controlled the paint, scoring 36 points inside compared to Benedict's 24.
