Shippensburg, PA- November 8, 2024 - The Lincoln University (PA) women's basketball team lost first game of the season to Kutztown University with a final score 61-71 .

The Lions were unable to get it going on offense through the first 3 quarters which led to the Golden Bears getting off to a hot start to begin the game. It was not until the last quarter when the Lions were able to lead the quarter in points 23 to 11.

The Lions made a huge contribution on the offensive end from Senior
Anyssa Fields (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch), who led the team with 19 points while
Ciani Montgomery (Philadelphia, Pa./West Catholic Prep) was not too far behind with 13 points. It was also an impressive day for Freshman
Ariana Makumi (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly) who scored 7 points in her debut for Lincoln.

Aniya Gibson led the team in blocks with three while Fields added to her impressive season opener with two steals on defense.

The Lincoln University (PA.) women's basketball team will be back in action tomorrow November 9,2024 as they face Shippensburg University in the second game of the PSAC/CIAA WBB Challenge.
