Lincoln University to Honor Fall Sports Teams at December 2nd Recognition Event

Lincoln University, PA November 13, 2024 - Lincoln University (PA) Athletics will celebrate its fall sports teams at a recognition event on December 2, 2024, at 3 p.m. in the Manuel Rivera Gymnasium. This event will honor student-athletes from the university's four fall sports: cross country, women's volleyball, women's soccer, and football.

The Women's Volleyball team, under new head coach Latifa Raheem, completed a season focused on growth and team development, with more games left in the season​. Coach Raheem has brought renewed energy to the program, and the team looks forward to future seasons of progress

Women's Soccer marked a historic start to the season, achieving back-to-back home wins for the first time in several years. Competing as newcomers in the challenging Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), the team finished the season with a 3-12 record, showing resilience and setting a strong foundation for growth within the new conference.

Football displayed grit and determination throughout the season, concluding with a 2-8 overall record and a 2-6 record in conference play. Season highlights included a commanding 37-13 victory over Bluefield State University and a narrow 21-20 win against Elizabeth City State. The team aims to build on these successes moving forward.

Women's Cross Country excelled, finishing 3rd in the CIAA Cross Country Championships, a strong showing that highlighted the team's endurance and competitive spirit. The Men's Cross Country team also showed effort and dedication, finishing 11th in the same championships.

The Lincoln University community is invited to join in recognizing the dedication, achievements, and sportsmanship of these student-athletes. The celebration will commence at 3 p.m. in the Manuel Rivera Gymnasium, honoring the hard work and commitment of each team.
