Lincoln University, PA, November 14, 2024 - The Lincoln University (PA) women's volleyball team concluded their regular season with a challenging match against Bluefield State University, falling in three sets with scores of 12-25, 19-25, and 11-25 at Manuel Rivero Hall.
The Lions showed tenacity, particularly in the second set, where they kept the score close with multiple ties and lead changes. Senior Elise Carter (Smyrna, DE/Smyrna HS) led Lincoln's offense with six kills on 22 attempts, while Charly Manley (Upper Marlboro, MD/Frederick Douglass HS) contributed five kills. Setter Janiece Lumpkin (Middletown, DE/Middletown HS) facilitated the offense with eight assists, while also making an impact defensively with seven digs.
Defensively, Mariah Webster (Detroit, Mich./Cass Tech/) led the back row with four digs, while Davion Blanchard (New Castle, Pa./New Castle) added three digs to keep rallies alive. Despite Lincoln's efforts, Bluefield State capitalized on their strong attack, hitting at an efficient .264, and securing their win.
This marks the end of the regular season for Lincoln University (PA) women's volleyball, who demonstrated resilience and growth throughout the year.
