Lincoln University, PA, October 14, 2024 - The Lincoln University (PA) women's volleyball team fell to Virginia Union University in four sets with final set scores of 22-25,9-25,25,25-20,17-25.
 
The Lions fought hard in their match up with the Panthers as the first set was close ending in a score of 22-25, the team struggled in the second set but was able to gather some momentum heading into the third set as the team won the third set due to a long streak towards the end of the set.
 
The team was led by Kendra Williams (Dover, Del./Dover) in kills (9) and Charly Manley (Upper Marlboro, MD/Frederick Douglass HS) (9) while Elise Carter (Smyrna, DE/Smyrna HS) (7) was not too far behind. Janna Smith also led the team in assists with 16 on the day.
 
On defense Audreynette Lydgate (Bowie, MD/Charles Herbert Flowers HS) led the team in blocks with four while Janiece Lumpkin (Middletown, DE/Middletown HS) led the team in digs with five.
 
The Lincoln University (PA) women's volleyball team will be on the road once again on October 17, 2024 as they go up against Virginia State University starting at 6p.m this Thursday.
