BOWIE, MD (January 20, 2024)- The Lincoln University Lions men's basketball team overpowered the Bowie State University Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon, with a final score of 77-59.

FIRST HALF
- The contest opened with the Bulldogs taking the lead with the opening basket.
- That lead was short lived as the Lions stepped in to answer back and control the remainder of the contest.
- LU capitalized off of the BSU's missed baskets and turnovers, going on an early 8-0 run.
- The Lions worked together to dominate the court and hold strong to their lead.
- At the end of the 1st half, LU was in control of contest, 31-25.
SECOND HALF
- Despite getting within lead changing range early in the 2nd half, Bowie State was no match for Lincoln.
- The Lions continued to apply pressure defensively, shaking up BSU's plays and putting the visiting Lions in scoring position.
- Extending the scoring gap to as much as 22 points, the game undoubtedly belongs to LU.
- At the end of regulation, Lincoln prevailed with a 77-59 victory over Bowie State.
LION LEADERS
- Bakir Cleveland (Newark, N.J./University) led the Lions in scoring with 19 points.
- Also scoring in double digits were Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) (17 points), Peter Sober (16 points) and Aidan Anderson (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) (10 points).
- Hudson, Sober and Janaie Coates-Sinues (Newark, N.J./University) were all evenly matched, each securing 8 rebounds.
- Hudson and Sober also added 5 assists and 2 blocks respectively.
- Marshall Roberson (Charlotte, NC/West Mecklenburg) stepped in with 3 steals for Lincoln.
UP NEXT
The Lions will host the Vikings of Elizabeth City State University on Wednesday, January 24. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm at Manuel Rivero Gymnasium.
