Track & Field Dominates CIAA Weekly Awards With Three Representatives

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania track & field program came extremely close to filling the CIAA Track & Field Weekly Awards with Orange and Blue clad Lions student-athletes as Daniel Cooley (Owings Mills, Md./Northern) (Men's Field), Aisha Carrington (Baltimore, Md./Franklin) (Women's Track), and Olivia Wright (Winslow Twp., N.J/Winslow Twp.) (Women's Field) took home three of the four honors.

Cooley, a freshman from Owings Mills, Maryland, won first place with a high jump of 1.93m, the sixth-best mark in the CIAA this season, and came in second place with a 6.42m long jump with both of these events setting new personal-records.

Carrington, a sophomore from Baltimore, Maryland, was the only lady from Lincoln to come away victorious in a running event, doing so in the 60m dash (7.95).

Wright, a freshman from Winslow Township, New Jersey, was the only female Lions field athlete to win her event, claiming the gold with an 11.12m triple jump, the sixth-best leap in the conference, and a new personal-best. She also helped the 4x400m relay team come in third (4:09.67) while running a 9.97 in the 60m hurdles to secure fourth.

The track & field program will compete in the CIAA Indoor Championships this coming Sunday and Monday in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at the JDL Fast Track.
