Coates-Sinues’ First Career Double-Double Leads Lions Past Salem


LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania men's basketball program wrapped up its non-conference slate on Wednesday evening, defeating the Salem University Tigers by a count of 71-65.

  • Janaie Coates-Sinues (Newark, N.J./University) had a career evening, recording his first career double-double with a season-high of 11 rebounds and ten points while setting campaign-bests in minutes (33) and field goals (4). On top of the stats previously listed, he claimed career-bests for assists (3) plus steals (2).
 
  • Bakir Cleveland (Newark, N.J./University) threw his own personal block party, launching a personal-high three blocks into the bleachers and his first multi-three outing of 2022-23 to post 12 points.
 
  • Freddie Young, Jr. (Ewing, N.J./Trenton Catholic) was in a generous mood, handing out six dimes, easily a contest-best as well as being one of four Lions to score in double-digits.
 
  • Korey Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y./LaSalle Academy) topped Lincoln in scoring at 14, shooting 5-of-11 (45.5%) and swiping a pair of steals.
 
  • Other notables included Amir Stevens' (Valley Stream, NY/Valley Stream Central) season-high seven points and Ethan Garita's (Trenton, N.J./Princeton Day School) campaign-best two assists and two steals.
