ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania women's basketball program can lay claim to being possibly the hottest HBCU team in the country, having not lost since mid-December and boasting the ninth-longest active winning streak in Division II at ten consecutive.

Lincoln (PA) Overview:
 
LU of PA is currently slotted as the fifth-best team in the Atlantic Region in the D2SIDA poll released on January 23, ranked behind only Gannon, West Virginia State, Glenville State, and Shippensburg.
 
The women have been one of the few elite teams in NCAA Division II college basketball, snagging the third-highest offensive rebounding average in the nation at an exceptional 17.3 boards on missed shot attempts per game.
 
The Lions also lead the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association in scoring offense (70.9), three-pointers made a contest (5.9), and overall winning percentage (75%).
 
Both Jaleesa Lanier (Easton, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) and Anyssa Fields (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch) top the conference leaderboards as Lanier boasts an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.26 while Fields has sunk the most field goals in the league at 114.
 
Scouting the Elizabeth City State Vikings:
 
Elizabeth City State has been a defensive juggernaut in 2022-23, ranking third in the nation for three-point percentage allowed (24.2%), eighth for scoring defense (54.1), 14th in field goal percentage defense (34.7%), and 19th in terms of rebounding margin (7.3).
 
Jessica Adams and Dy'Jhanik Armfield are the top players responsible for shutting down the opposition as Adams is seventh in the CIAA for blocks (16) while Armfield slots eighth regarding steals per game (2.00).
 
Maryam Hashim is the go-to three-point shooter slotting sixth in the league for triples a contest (1.76) and Sirenna Pitts is fifth conference-wide at 7.1 boards on average.
