Stinson named Vice Chair of D2 Management Council

Lincoln University Director of Athletics and Recreational Services Harry Stinson III has been elected as the Vice-chairperson of the NCAA Division II Management Council.

The election comes just one year after Stinson was named as the chairperson of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Management Council. He is also the vice chairperson of the NCAA Minority Opportunities and Interest Committee (MOIC).

"Service, Experiences and Intentionally Leading with Love is my mantra and how I strive to impact this enterprise," said Stinson. "I'm excited to serve in this new leadership role and be engaged at a higher level within the NCAA governance structure. This is a pivotal time within the NCAA and I'm happy to serve and be a part of the solution and the building blocks for the future of the NCAA and to represent Lincoln University and the CIAA at the same time."

Stinson just completed his fifth season leading the athletic department. In the ever-changing landscape of college athletics, Stinson has continued to renovate and improve the Lincoln athletic facilities.

Renovation projects including men's and women's basketball locker rooms, the resurfacing of the track and field surface, football field, outdoor basketball courts, resurfacing of the main gym and auxiliary gym surfaces, and complete renovation of the athletic facility including administrative and coaches offices, locker rooms, training areas and athletic indoor practice areas for all teams.

The largest project will be the $30 million renovations of Manuel Rivero Gymnasium that are slated to be completed in 2024.

He also serves on the NCAA Division II Championships Committee, the NCAA Division II Convention Committee, and is the chairperson of the CIAA Basketball Tournament Committee. Stinson is also a former member of the MOAA Board of Directors.
