CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Freshman quarterback
Isaiah Freeman (Chester, PA/STEM Academy) has been honored by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association for his play on the field, the league announced today (October 17, 2022).
For the third time this season, Freeman has picked up CIAA Rookie of the Week honors. Freeman has only started five games this season, so he has been honored following 60 percent of his starts. He also has a CIAA Quarterback of the Week honor to his resume this season.
"
Isaiah Freeman (Chester, PA/STEM Academy) continues to impress and lead with his hard work and dedication to the process to be great," said Lincoln Head Football Coach
Josh Dean. "Freeman is a relentless competitor and he displays that week to week. He instills the belief that we have the ability to win every week and that the future will bring success in his hands."
The rookie signal caller marched the Lions down the field for a quick score, giving the Lions a chance to tie the game. However, the two-point conversion ultimately failed. He was 5-for-5 for 84 yards, including a 47-yard completion, on the drive.
For the game, Freeman was 16-of-25 for 284 yards and a pair of scoring strikes. He is currently 73-of-141 for 1,120 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season.
Lincoln returns to the gridiron for quite possibly its stiffest test of the season, hosting unbeaten Virginia Union Noon Saturday.
