BOWIE, MD – Sophomore
Jazlynn Church (Wilmington, Del./The Charter School) placed fifth as the Lincoln University women's cross country team competed in the 2022 Bowie State Classic Tuesday at Jericho Park.
Church led a trio of Lions that placed fifth, sixth, and seventh in the 5K meet. Church completed the course in 22:20.70, and was followed by sophomore
Kamani Johns (Chester, Pa./Chester) (22:45.60) and freshman
Avionne Barnes (Bronx, N.Y./DeWitt Clinton) (22:58.70).
In her first meet of the season, sophomore Destiny Pierre-Mathieu was the fourth Lions across the mat – placing eighth in the time of 24:11. Freshman Amani Adams was right on her heels with a ninth-place finish (24:12.60) and freshman Angel Adams finished 10th (25:16.70).
It's a quick turnaround time for the Lions as they compete in the Jack St. Clair Invitational Saturday in Philadelphia's Belmont Plateau.
