The Lincoln University men's basketball struggled offensively as they dropped a 93-60 decision to Saint Augustine's University Saturday afternoon at Emery Gymnasium in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Lions fall to 4-13 with the loss while St. Augustine's improves to 5-8. The game was a designated non-conference game between the two teams. The two teams will square off for their conference clash later this season at Lincoln.
Jordan Camper (Chester, Pa./Chester) led all scorers with 16 points while grabbing a team-high nine rebounds.Â
Keynante Williams (Fredericksburg, Va./Rock Creek Christian Academy) added ten points while
Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) also grabbed nine rebounds.
The Lions held the early lead in the opening minutes of play before the Falcons exploded with a 25-1 run to take a 30-10 lead with eight minutes remaining in the half. The lead grew to as many as 23 before Camper sank a three-point field goal with 1:06 left to cut the Falcons lead to 20 at the break 46-26.
Williams' three-point basket at the 17:32 mark of the second half cut the deficit to 16 and the SAU oscillated between 16 and 21 over the next five minutes until the Falcons strung together another run to push their lead up to 30 points and as high as 36 in the final minutes before a final three-point basket from
Deonta Dunlap (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill Academy) provided the final points for the Lions.
Donte Edwards led the Falcons with 15 points while Hirk Williams chipped in 12. Karaan Clemonts and Miguel Brown added 11 and ten points respectively.
The Lions return home for their next game, taking on nationally ranked Virginia Union University on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
