Lincoln enters the roundup with an 0-7 overall record and an 0-2 mark in conference games after suffering a 3-0 defeat at Elizabeth City State on Wednesday.
Senior
Tierra Russaw (Westland, Mich./Summit Academy) leads the Lions with 23 kills, six aces and 45 assists. Sophomore
Kaiya Lewis (Woodhaven, N.Y./Queens Preparatory Academy) has 20 kills and a team-high attack% of .121. Freshman
Jasmin Lewis (Baltimore/Western) has 16 kills.
On the defensive end junior
Tymera Crudup (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) and Russaw lead the team with 56 digs apiece. Lewis leads the team with 14 blocks.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Shaw: The Shaw volleyball team is 3-7 overall and 3-0 in the CIAA. The Lady Bears are fresh off a 3-0 sweep of Claflin (Wednesday, Oct. 2), in which there were six players that tallied a kill or more and eight players that charted at least one dig in the winning effort. Shaw dominated the Lady Panthers in nearly all facets, highlighted by a .410 hitting percentage. Senior Jailynn Butler is the team's offensive leader with 77 kills while sophomore Jada Flowers has 231 assists – a team high and senior Karla Sosa has collected 89 digs defensively.
Johnson C. Smith: The Golden Bulls are 2-3 overall and 1-1 in league games having defeated St. Augustine's 3-0 and losing to Shaw 3-0 in their two conference contests. Taylor Smith paces JCSU with 20 kills while Gabrielle Wells adds 18. Elyse Bennet leads the team with 35 assists. On the defensive side Joi Haywood has 44 digs while Brianne Davis leads the team with eight blocks.
St. Augustine's: The Falcons are 0-3 overall and 0-3 in CIAA contests entering the roundup, having lost their last contest 3-0 to Winston Salem State.
The SAU women are sparked by Janina Mayers, the CIAA leader in digs per set (4.44). Brittany Jamison is tied for fourth in the CIAA in points per game (3.0).
