The Lincoln University women's soccer team recorded a season high 11 shots on goal Thursday as they dropped a 6-1 decision to Chowan University at Lions Stadium.

The loss drops the Lions record to 0-8.  Chowan improves to 2-3 with the win.

Sabrina Henderson, Carolina Lucci and Emily Trueman scored two goals apiece as the Hawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half and added three more goals in the second.   Lincoln's lone goal came in the 65^th minute with Diana Martinez (Kissimmee, Fla./St. Cloud) receiving a pass from Sarata Bello (Sagamu, Nigeria/Remo Methodist) and putting a shot past the Chowan goalkeeper.   Bello finished the game with a team-high five shots on goal, two in the first half and three in the second half.

The Lions also finished the games with five total corner kicks while Chowan had three.   Megan Dakwa (Gaithersburg, Md./Watkins Mill), in her first game of the season stopped 11 shots. 

The Lions return to action on Saturday, September 29, 2018 when they host Molloy College at Lions Stadium.  Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
