Three players reached double figures including a perfect shooting effort from sophomore center
Jordan Camper (Chester, Pa./Chester) as the Lincoln University men's basketball team got back on the winning track with a 71-51 win over University of the Sciences Tuesday night at Manuel Rivero Hall.

The Lions improve to 3-3 on the season while USciences fell to 2-5.

Camper came off the bench and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field which included a 4-for-4 effort from beyond the three-point arc to finish the game with 14 points. Â
Cameron Campbell (Fayetteville, N.C./Trinity Christian) led all scorers with 16 points while
Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) recorded his third double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds.Â
Deaquan Williams (Camden, N.J./Camden) was stellar on defense with 12 rebounds and three blocks on the night.

Paddy Casey led the Devils with 16 points and seven rebounds. Brendan Crawford added 13 point while Tanner Kerr chipped in ten.

The Devils hung around for the early part of the game and were leading 14-10 when the Lions went on a 14-0 tear, highlighted by two Camper three-balls from the baseline and two baskets from
Tamir Green (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution) to take a 24-14 lead with just under eight minutes remaining. USciences cut the lead in half before a 7-2 spurt from the Lions pushed the lead back up to ten 33-23 with 2:48 left. The Devils scored the final four points of the half to cut the Lions lead to six 33-27 at the break.

Lincoln exploded with a 17-2 uprising in the second half to push their lead to 20 54-34 with 11:41 remaining. Five different players scored during the run. The Devils cut the lead at 15 at 58-43 with 7:37 left but that would be as close as they would come the rest of the way as the Lions took their biggest with just under six minutes left at 65-43 before settling in for the 20-point win.

The Lions shot 42.6% (29-68) for the game while the devils connected on just 18 of 60 shots (30%). Lincoln's three point shooting was solid, making 10 of 24 (41.7%) while the Devils struggled with a 3-20 effort (15%). The Devils did outscore the Lions 12-3 on the free throw line.  Lincoln held a 44-39 rebounding edge and committed four fewer turnovers (11-15).

The men's basketball team returns to action on Thursday, November 29, 2018 with their annual "Battle of the First" game at Cheyney University. Tipoff is set for 8:00 p.m.
