The Lincoln University women's volleyball team took a break from conference play, traveling to Philadelphia to face University of the Sciences Thursday night at USci's Bobby Morgan Arena. Lincoln had a devil of a time as the USciences squad won the match 3-0.
The Devils won the first set 25-14, the second 25-5 and completed the sweep with a 25-13 win in the third set. The Lions drop to 1-20 with the loss whjile USciences improves to 7-17.
Kaylarose Scott (Brooklyn, N.Y./Hudson Catholic) led the Lions with four killsand Alisa foster had seven assists. Defensively
Tymera Crudup (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) led the team with ten digs., Scott and
Tierra Russaw (Westland , Mich./Summit Academy) had three blocks apiece.
Brooke Witmer and Sarah Miller led the Devils attack with nine kills apiece. Caelin Jaskot had 29 assists. Miller led the team with four aces. Cassandra Moy and Rhiannon Comia paced USciences with ten and nine digs respectively.
The Lions are back in action on Friday, October 26, 2018 when they host Chowan University. The game is a make-up of an earlier match that was postponed due to the recent hurricane that hit the North Carolina coast. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
