Lincoln University and the Department of Athletics are pleased to announce the dates for the upcoming Homecoming games during the 2018 and 2019 football seasons.
In 2018 the Lions will host Elizabeth City State University on October 13. The Vikings visited Lions Stadium for the 2016 Homecoming game. Lincoln also hosted the Vikings for their first homecoming game after the program's revival in 2008 with the game being played at Avon Grove High School while Lions Stadium was under construction.
The 2019 season sees the Homecoming festivities centered around the October 12 game versus Virginia Union University. These two programs came together for a Lincoln Homecoming game three times previously, the first back in 1948. The Lions won that 1948 game 21-7 but dropped the two most recent contests, 2009 and 2015.
"As we look to build on our traditions we want to get information to our family, friends, alum and future students as early as possible," said Lincoln Athletic Director Harry Stinson. "Homecoming is a glorious event and the ability to circle it on your calendar is paramount to the success of our programs as we build for the future."
With the 2017 season just completed and the 2018 season several months away, Lincoln is finalizing details for the full schedule while also working on contracts for seasons ahead. More information will be released once the full season schedule is available. Mark your calendars now for the 2018 and 2019 Homecomings.
