WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Lincoln defeated Livingstone 3-1 (12-25, 25-7, 25-13, 25-23) down at the CIAA Round-Up hosted by Winton-Salem State University on Sunday, September 20

Mariah Russell (St. Louis, MO/Maplewood Richmond Heights HS) had 12 kills to lead the Lady Lions while 
Jillian Lee (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) added seven kills. 
In their final game of the CIAA Round-Up in Winston-Salem, NC the Lady Lions picked up their first victory of the season over the Blue Bears. Lincoln recorded 32 kills and forced Livingstone into 29 team errors and (-.009) attack percentage. After a slow start in the first set Lincoln responded in dominating fashion taking three straight games. 
Mariah Russell (St. Louis, MO/Maplewood Richmond Heights HS) led the attack in set two with four kills. 
Sydney Cook (Portland, OR/Cleveland HS) had eight digs and 
Kyra Orton (Detroit, MI/Renaissance HS) scored twice on service aces as the Lady Lions won 25-7. Russell continued her solid play with five kills in the third set. Livingstone struggled with 11 errors as Lincoln kept it together winning 25-13. In the fourth and final set, 
Jillian Lee (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) and 
Toni Smith (New Castle, DE/William Penn HS) rose to the occasion both posting four kills each. Orton had six digs as Lincoln won 25-23. 
Shanna King (Newark, NJ/University High School) paced the Lady Lions with 20 assists. 
Sydney Cook (Portland, OR/Cleveland HS) (14), 
Kyra Orton (Detroit, MI/Renaissance HS) (12), and 
Soyini Hugget (Bear, DE/Delaware Tech CC) (11) all reached double-digit digs in the win over Livingstone. 
On Saturday, September 19
th Lincoln suffered a pair of losses to Johnson C. Smith and host Winston-Salem State. 
The Lady Lions fell 3-2 to Johnson C. Smith in their afternoon game. Lincoln won sets 3 and 4, but lost a close set 5 17-15. 
Sydney Cook (Portland, OR/Cleveland HS) had a game-high 27 digs and 
Shanna King (Newark, NJ/University High School) had 23 assists. 
Mariah Russell (St. Louis, MO/Maplewood Richmond Heights HS) (10) and 
Jillian Lee (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) (9) combined for 19 kills while 
Toni Smith (New Castle, DE/William Penn HS) had seven. 
In their first game of the Round-Up Winston-Salem swept Lincoln 3-0. 
Sydney Cook (Portland, OR/Cleveland HS) had ten digs and the team posted 14 total kills. 
Soyini Hugget (Bear, DE/Delaware Tech CC) led with five kills and 
Shanna King (Newark, NJ/University High School) has seven assists. 
Lincoln moves to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in CIAA play. The Lady Lions travel to Felcian for their next match on Tuesday, September 22
nd at 7 p.m.
