RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Shanna King (Newark, NJ/University High School) posted a team-high 21 assists and was second in digs with 17 for the Lady Lions in a 3-1 (16-25, 18-25, 25-20, 11-25) loss to Felician on Tuesday, September 22
nd.
Lincoln fell behind 0-2 to Felician before playing their best set of the evening in the third.
Toni Smith (New Castle, DE/William Penn HS) and
Mariah Russell (St. Louis, MO/Maplewood Richmond Heights HS) played well carrying the Lady Lions to victory. Smith connected on five kills while Russell had four. Lincoln's defense collected 30 digs in that set with
Sydney Cook (Portland, OR/Cleveland HS) recording nine. Felician committed eight errors their most of the match as Lincoln won 25-20.
Mariah Russell (St. Louis, MO/Maplewood Richmond Heights HS) finished with ten kills and 12 digs,
Jillian Lee (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) followed with seven kills and three assisted blocks, and
Toni Smith (New Castle, DE/William Penn HS) had six kills. Five Lady Lions had double digit digs anchored by Sydey Cook's 19.
Shanna King (Newark, NJ/University High School) paced Lincoln with 21 assists and had 17 digs helping out defensively. The Lady Lions had a season-best attack percentage (.081) against Felician.
Lincoln drops to 1-4 overall and will open at home on Thursday, September 24
th against Virginia Union at 7 p.m.
