NORRISTOWN, Pa. – Pitcher
Brendan Sherman-Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) struck out a pair of batters in game one of a double header against Chestnut Hill College on Wednesday, March 25
th at the Latshaw-McCarthy Field. Lincoln loss both games to Chestnut Hill 6-0 & 3-0.
Lincoln compiled five hits in the first game of a double header against the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College. The Lions had two hits in the second inning behind the bats of
Brandon Bolden (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro HS) and
Ronald Lashley (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker Academy). Bolden singled to left field and Lashley also singled up the middle. In the third inning
Avery Lomax (Bowie, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt HS) led the inning off with a single to center field.
Gabriel Santiago (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy) singled in the fourth inning through the left side and
DeVante Parker (Bear, DE/Appoquinimink HS) singled to third base in the sixth inning.
Sophomore pitcher
Brendan Sherman-Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) struck out two batters but gave up eight hits for six earned runs. The game was scoreless through three innings until the bottom of the fourth when Chestnut Hill scored a pair of runs off of three hits. The Griffins added on two runs in the fifth and another two runs in the sixth inning to shut out the Lions 6-0.
In the second inning of the double header,
Charles Gibbons (Brooklyn, NY/Genesee CC) singled through the left side for the Lions only hit of game two.
Demetrius Robinson (Philadelphia, Pa./Murrell Dobbins HS) took the mound for the Lions and struck out two batters in four innings pitched. Robinson allowed six hits for three runs in the loss. Chestnut Hill won 3-0.
The Lions drop to 1-12 overall after their double header sweep by the Griffins. Lincoln will travel to a neutral site for a double header against Bluefield State College on March 28-29
th.
