Scott, Burrell, & Robinson Earn 2015 CIAA Football All-Conference Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Lincoln placed three on the 2015 CIAA Football All-Conference Teams on Thursday, November 12th announced by The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) in conjunction with its Football Coaches Association and Sports Information Directors Association. Running back Stephen Scott (Baltimore, MD/Bethel College) was named to the 2015 All-CIAA First Team while offensive lineman Brandon Burrell (Fort Lauderdale, FL/Bethel College) and defensive back Brion Robinson (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook HS) both were named Honorable Mentions.
 
Junior running back Stephen Scott (Baltimore, MD/Bethel College) received his first ever All-CIAA Football First Team honors after leading the CIAA in total rushes (304), rushing yards (1,258), and in yardage per game (125.8). He ranked second in rushing touchdowns (10) and ninth in yards per rush (4.1). During the season he was named CIAA Offensive Back of the Week in consecutive weeks and helped the Lions to 3-1 start to the season. Scott became the first person in LU history to rush for over 1,000 yards. He tallied a career-high 282 rushing yards at NC Wesleyan and scored a season-high three touchdowns at Cheyney. He set several school season records; all -purpose yards, all-purpose yards per game, rushing yards, rushing attempts, rushing touchdowns, and rushing yards per game.
 
Junior offensive lineman Brandon Burrell (Fort Lauderdale, FL/Bethel College) earned his first ever All-CIAA Football Team honors after contributing to the Lions' offensive success in 2015. LU led the CIAA in rushing attempts (475), field goal percentage (88.9%), and time of possession per game (34:39). Burrell started and played in all ten games in 2015 and earned CIAA Offensive Lineman of the Week honors after anchoring a LU blocking attack that helped set several single-game rushing records in a win against NC Wesleyan. The Lions offense scored the most rushing touchdowns (4), had the most carries (63), and most net yards rushing (283) in program history.
 
Senior defensive back Brion Robinson (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook HS) was named to his third consecutive All-CIAA Football Team after ranking eighth in interceptions (3) and ninth in the CIAA in solo tackles (42). He led the Lions in forced fumbles (3) and finished second in total tackles (51). Brion was named CIAA Defensive Back of the Week after posting a season-high nine tackles in the season finale against Chowan. Robinson finished with 44 solo tackles, seven assisted tackles, and 9.0 tackles for a loss of yardage. He collected three interceptions and returned one for a touchdown against Alderson Broaddus. He also recovered one fumble and had two passes defended during the season.
 
Lincoln ended their 2015 season with an overall record of 3-7 and 1-6 in CIAA play. Their season win total is the most for a Lincoln football team since the 2009 season (3-7).
