PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Lions rolled to their third consecutive victory led by
Alonzo Murphy (Pittsburgh, PA/California University (PA))'s 17 points and season-high 12 rebounds in a 61-49 road win against Pace University on Thursday, December 18
th.
Lincoln's defense held Pace to only 14 made field goals in their third road victory of the season. The Lions also held a 40-24 rebounding advantage led by senior
Alonzo Murphy (Pittsburgh, PA/California University (PA)). Murphy finished with a season-high 12 rebounds and 17 points on 6-of-7 made field goals. Sophomore
Joshua Davis (Saginaw, MI/Louisburg Junior College) was the other Lion to reach double figure scoring with 10 points leading the bench to go along with eight rebounds. Davis was a force defensively recording two blocked shots.
Winning the battle in the paint (36-16) and bench points (32-4), Lincoln led the entire second half against Pace. Freshman
Quaman Burton (Richmond, VA/John Marshall HS) added nine points and converted on 7-of 8 free-throws while junior
Chaz Sharp (Baltimore, MD/Xavier University of Louisiana) dished out a game-high four assists, three steals, and scored seven points. Senior
Demetrius Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Milford Mill HS) made a pair of three-pointers and senior
Tony Efese (Spring Valley, NY/St. Joseph Regional HS) had eight points and six rebounds in the victory.
The Lions (6-4) have won three games in a row and are undefeated on the road at 3-0. Lincoln will play their final game of the 2014 portion of their season on Sunday, December 21
st at 3 p.m. at Mansfield University.
