LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Senior
Tony Efese (Spring Valley, NY/St. Joseph Regional HS) scored a season-high 18 points with nine rebounds as the Lions defeated Goldey-Beacom College, 73-65, on Saturday, November 22
nd in Manuel Rivero Hall.
The Lions held a 44-27 rebounding advantage against the Lightning while converting on 64% (20-31) of their free-throws in their second win of the season. Senior
Alonzo Murphy (Pittsburgh, PA/California University (PA)) and
Tony Efese (Spring Valley, NY/St. Joseph Regional HS) each made six free-throws and carried the Lions rebounding effort. Murphy had 10 defensive rebounds and
Tony Efese (Spring Valley, NY/St. Joseph Regional HS) grabbed four offensive rebounds followed by sophomore
Joshua Davis (Saginaw, MI/Louisburg Junior College)' six total rebounds.
Lincoln shot 50% from both the field (13-26) and free-throw line (7-14) in the first half and had ten different players record a point. Senior
Kyle Aiken (Randolph, NJ/Randolph HS) had five points and four steals pacing the Lions.
Joshua Davis (Saginaw, MI/Louisburg Junior College) led the bench scoring with five points and freshman
Quaman Burton (Richmond, VA/John Marshall HS) added four points in the half. The lead was changed eight times with the score tied five times in a close opening half between the Lions and Lightning. At the half, Lincoln held a slight 34-32 lead over Goldey-Beacom.
Goldey-Beacom opened the second half on a 7-2 run springing to a 39-36 lead by the 17:08 mark. Lincoln quickly responded with a run of their own sparked by
Tony Efese (Spring Valley, NY/St. Joseph Regional HS) and
Joshua Davis (Saginaw, MI/Louisburg Junior College). The two ignited a 10-0 run as the Lions jumped to their biggest lead (51-41) with 13:13 left to play. Efese had 14 points in the half on 4-of-7 made shots from the field and 6-of-7 made free-throws. Davis was 5-of-7 from the field with ten points off of the LU bench. Lincoln held on to their lead with aggressive pressure forcing eight turnovers and dominating the rebounding battle (20-13).

Tony Efese (Spring Valley, NY/St. Joseph Regional HS) finished with a season-high 18 points on 6-of-11 made shots from the field. Efese also was 6-for-7 from the free-throw line, had nine rebounds, and three assists.
Joshua Davis (Saginaw, MI/Louisburg Junior College) posted a career-best 15 points on 7-of-10 made shots from the field with six rebounds.
Alonzo Murphy (Pittsburgh, PA/California University (PA)) recorded his second consecutive double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Kyle Aiken (Randolph, NJ/Randolph HS) had eight points while tying a career-high with five assists and setting a career-best with five steals.
The Lions will hit the road for the first time this season on Tuesday, November 25
th for a battle with West Chester University at 7 p.m.
