Kyle Edwards (Bloomfield, CT/Bloomfield HS) finished second overall at the 2014 CIAA Cross Country Championships leading Lincoln to a fifth place finish with 120 team points. The Lions had runners place 2
nd, 11
th, 27
th, 38
th, 42
nd, and 45
th.
In the men's 8K, two Lions posted top-20 finishes led by seniors
Kyle Edwards (Bloomfield, CT/Bloomfield HS) and
Federico Ghelli (Rome, Italy/Liceo Mons. Tozzi). Edwards was the runner-up earning All-CIAA honors blazing the course in a time of 26:12 just one-second behind the winner Bowie State's Chick Ndjami (26:11). Ghelli was 11
th overall with a time of 27:32 just one spot out of the top-10.
Sophomore
Ira Hunt (Queens, NY/The Phelps School) was third for the Lions arriving 27
th overall in 29:27. Senior
Keith Taylor (Chester, PA/Mount Pleasant HS) (38
th) was next for Lincoln, followed by junior
Kemoi Charles (St. Thomas, Virgin Islands/Charlotte Amalie HS) (42
nd), junior
Henry Alston (Springfield, MD/Springfield Renaissance HS) (45
th), and senior
Miles Green (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) (50
th).
Virginia Union won the men's championship taking the team title with 26 points. Bowie State finished second (63), Virginia State took third (95), and St. Augustine's finished with 113 points for fourth place.
