Box Score LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Lincoln University volleyball team was seeking its second consecutive victory on Wednesday night, but the Lady Lions came up just a bit short in a 3-0 loss to the University of the Sciences at Manuel Rivero Gymnasium.
In front of the biggest home crowd this season, Lincoln (1-8) dropped the opening set, 25-14, but began the second set with eight straight points. However, the Devils (7-7) rallied and took the set with a 25-20 win. In the third set, the University of the Sciences broke open a close game and defeated Lincoln, 25-20 to get the victory.
Briana McKellery (Odenton, MD/Arundel HS) paced Lincoln with 10 kills, while
Sharay DuBose (Salisbury, Md./Parkside HS) had six assists.
Sydney Cook (Portland, OR/Cleveland HS) finished with 12 digs to lead the Lady Lions defense.
Lincoln jumps back into CIAA competition this weekend at the CIAA Round-up, hosted by Winston-Salem State University. The Lady Lions meets Winston-Salem State at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 29 and conclude action for the day at 1 p.m., against Johnson C. Smith. Lincoln ends round-up play 9 a.m., on Sunday, Sept. 30.
