Box Score ETTRICK, Va. – The Lincoln University women's basketball team fell behind early and couldn't rally as the Lady Lions concluded the regular season with a 75-50 loss to Virginia State on Monday night in a CIAA Northern Division game at Daniel Gym.
Cynthia Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute), who scored a career-high 22 points on Saturday at Virginia Union, paced Lincoln (7-21 overall, 3-13 CIAA, 3-7 CIAA Northern) with 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting. She also finished with four steals, three rebounds, one assist and one block as the Lady Lions shot 28 percent (14-of-50) from the floor.

Alaysia Washington (Washington, DC/Friendship Collegiate Academy) jumper with 12:50 remaining in the first half cut the Lady Trojans lead to 12-9, but Virginia State closed out the half on a 23-15 run to take a 35-24 advantage into the break.
The Lady Trojans (15-12, 7-8, 5-4), who went 12-1 at Daniel Gym this season, began the second half on an 11-0 run and didn't look back.
Mariame Sylla scored 14 points and pulled down a game-high eight rebounds to lead Virginia State. LaMesha Deal added 11 points and Da'Shae Jones dished out 11 assists as the Lady Trojans were 23-of-57 shooting for 40 percent.
The Lady Lions have a week off as Lincoln is the No. 6 seed for the CIAA Tournament, which begins Feb. 27-March 3 at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C. The No. 6 seed will meet the No. 3 seed from the Southern Division in Game 2 of the tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 28. Tickets are still available.
