Shorthanded LU falls to Chowan

Box Score

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. — Playing shorthanded for the entire game, freshman goalkeeper Isata Panda (Bowie, Md./Charles H. Flowers) recorded 13 saves in the Lincoln women's soccer team's 8-0 loss to Chowan University (1-3).

The Lady Lions (0-7) recorded just two shots as they found it to sustain pressure playing the equivalent of a hockey penalty kill for the entire 90 minutes.

The Hawks' Lacey Crafton scored the first of her first two goals in the 11th minute. CU would go into halftime up 4-0.

Head coach Fabio Boateng shuffled the lineup around hoping to find a combination that would spark the offense. Nailah Davidson (Queens, N.Y/HSLEAPS) moved from the backline to forward and had several nice runs, using her 5-foot-10 frame to her advantage over the smaller defenders.

Charlise Cunningham (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) and Mariah Coates (Reading, Pa./Reading) each offered two shots.
